Cloudy vision

I wear glasses and have done since I was 12. I like my glasses - they're my favourite accessory and it feels weird without them. Sometimes though, I do find myself wanting to switch to contact lenses. This usually happens at the hairdressers when I have to take my glasses off to get my hair cut. Removing my glasses is a moment that makes me feel very vulnerable. All I can see is a white blob and a brown bob that's getting steadily smaller with each passing snip.

Anyway, I was trying to distract myself from the trauma of yesterday's haircut by reading through one of those 'women's interest' type magazines that they keep handy. Only, reading is somewhat difficult without my glasses and usually consists of my squinting at a page until it finally comes into focus. This can be a risky strategy, as I found when a page I'd been staring at for several moments came into focus to reveal that I was studying an article on sex fantasies decoded.

I felt so dirty. And not in a good way.

Fortunately, Chinese food with uC + QI + my best ever score on Bejewlled brought me back to normality.

In other news, I went out for drinks and food with a few of my MA classmates which was a lot of fun and gave me a short story idea.

Have made some progress with the Chapter of Doom of KYBS and am hopeful that I will finish it this weekend.

I always laugh when they ask you what you think and you have to explain yet again that you can't tell until you've put the glasses back on, and then there's all that fumbling with the tied cape-thingy...
