- be registered to attend FantasyCon 2010.

And if you're not any of those things and you live in the UK and you love fantasy, horror and science fiction then I am appalled by your lack of participation and urge you to rectify the situation at once.

:looks stern:

While I'm in a congratulatory mood, massive thunderclap congratulations go to JANET FOXLEY, a lovely lady and member of the British Chapter of the SCBWI who won the 2010 Times/Chicken House Children's Fiction Prize with Muncle Trogg, a MG novel about small giants and surly dragons. The novel is due out in 2011 and I for one cannot wait to get my greedy little mitts on a copy.

:throws confetti on all:

In other news (and as I previously mentioned on my Facebook page), with spring being here the frogs who live in my parent's back garden are somewhat frisky. In fact, it can only be described as a fence-to-fence amphibian gang bang. It's got to the stage where I daren't go outside for fear of (a) invading their privacy or (b) being accused of being a frog voyeur (and believe me, there is an awful lot to voyeur if that's your kink). The enthusiastic croaking goes on all night to form a background noise of boom chikka chikka ribbet ribbet.

Right, back to edits.

The frogs in my back garden back home get up to pretty much the same. Threesomes, orgies, the works.

Thanks for the congrats, Caroline. It's great to be on the long list, and of course, now I'm trying not to get my hopes up for the short list. :-)

Is this what they meant by a plaque of frogs? - very biblical.

I think that if this had been the biblical plague, then Pharoah would have taken Moses much more seriously and there wouldn't have been a need for Plague 3.

Moses: "Let my people go. I mean it - the river of blood thing was just God getting warmed up. Next up are frogs."

Pharoah: "Frogs? You're kidding me, right? I mean, the river of blood thing was quite impressive - very David Blaine, but I'm not seeing how frogs are any kind of dire threat."

Moses: "Don't say I didn't warn you."

:plague of frogs begins:

Pharoah: "Those frogs ... are they ... shagging?"

Moses: "I told you this wouldn't be good."

Pharoah: "You told me there'd be frogs, you didn't mention anything about shagging! Oh dear Imo-Thep, that's a froggy four-way. I think I've just gone blind."

Moses: "So are we free to leave or what?"

Pharoah: "Yes, yes - go on get out of here. Use my chariots to leave and take your debauched amphibians with you. I'm going to see if we've got any psychologists on staff to make the trauma go away."

Moses: "Israelites, roll!"

LOLOLOL

...and from that day forward, the pyramids were all shaped like lilly pads and the head of the sphinx was curiously flat.
